Treatment follows what’s often called the “Rule of 3s”: most patients need approximately 3 sessions, results appear gradually over 3 months, and Sculptra® aesthetic results last up to 2 years or longer. Here’s how your journey typically looks:
Your injector assesses your facial structure, takes baseline photos, and performs initial injections. Mild swelling for a few days is normal.
These sessions occur 4–6 weeks apart, building on the collagen response from the first. Your injector adjusts based on your skin’s reaction.
Results become evident as collagen production increases. Many notice friends commenting that you look “rested” without knowing why.
Results remain natural with proper collagen maintenance. A “top-up” session at 18–24 months can help refresh results.

Results are gradual, with most patients noticing improvements at 6–8 weeks and significant changes at 3–6 months as collagen production peaks. Full results are typically seen after completing the treatment series.
Neither option is universally “better”; they serve different purposes. Juvederm® and Restylane® provide immediate volume in targeted areas, while a biostimulator gradually stimulates collagen production for lasting results. Many patients benefit from both. Small subcutaneous nodules can form when PLLA particles cluster rather than distribute evenly. Proper dilution techniques by the injector, along with the 5-5-5 massage protocol (5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days), can help prevent this. When done by an experienced provider, nodule formation is rare.
